As part of our Spooky Season celebrations this year, we hosted a 12-day game jam with the theme “It Never Ends.”
We received a record number of registrations, and 56 final entries for this jam. Winners were decided by a panel of judges from the Synty team, and awarded across four categories:
- "Synty's Choice" – Highest scoring game overall
- "Most Spooky" – Synty’s choice of game with the spookiest of vibes
- "Best Visuals" – Synty’s choice of game with the best visuals
- "Wild Card Award" – A game that wowed in a way we weren't expecting
We want to give a big shoutout to everyone in the Synty Community who joined in the fun! Whether you submitted a game, or cheered on from the sidelines in support, you’re all amazing.
Alright, time to show off the winning entries...
Synty's Choice – Midnight Maintenance
Find your trusty mop bucket and get to work cleaning your office building from top to bottom. Take care of the floors, walls corners and trash! Maybe if you do a good job, the manager will let you take a break for the night...
Most Spooky – 1001 Nightmares
A game about a never ending nightmare where a poor fellow called Jimmy is haunted by a zombie clown in a dark forest. Collect tickets, and try to survive!
Best Visuals – Synko - Never Clock
He can’t live without her. He won’t stop until he finds her. For over two years, a desperate husband has searched for his missing wife, exhausting every lead. The police and other agencies have long since given up. Her last known location? Synko Never Clock’s visitor day – a bizarre, toy factory-like carnival experience.
Wild Card Award – Z-Mart
Welcome to Z-Mart, we are glad to have you as part of the team! Your duties include (but are not limited to) stocking shelves, operating the cash register, and fending off the endless hordes of the undead while we remain diligently open and willing to serve!
We hope you enjoyed this look at our winning entries, but the good news is that you can head over to the jam’s Itch.io page and play all the wonderful games for yourself! There’s a great range of games to choose from for fans of thrills and spills. There’s also a ton of amazing screenshots you can look through for inspiration if you're thinking about making a spooky game of your own.
We had so much fun seeing how the community interpreted the theme for this jam, and appreciate all the hard work in producing such high quality entries. If you took part, we hope you had fun and maybe even learned something new in the process!
